What can I say besides “Enjoy this moment of cute”?
Well, that and “Happy Friday the 13th.”
Why yes, that is a smug expression on Mr. Rhubarb’s face.
He’s always been fond of sitting or lying on Maggie’s pillow. And why shouldn’t he be? It’s soft, it’s the highest point on the bed — everybody’s favorite hangout — and it smells like Mommy. What’s not to like?
A rare view of our gang all hanging out together peacefully.
From top to bottom: Rhubarb, Kokoro, Yuki, Kaja (elaborately ignoring Yuki), and ‘Nuki.
Mooch, of the comic strip “Mutts“, has his little pink sock.
Yuki, of the staircase, has his silly pink tongue.
Is there anything cuter than a cat sleeping
with one paw over his face?
Now rub my tummy!
As the title of this post says, some things never change.
For evidence, I present Kaja and Rhubarb as kittens:
and as grown up cats:
Reassuring (as well as disgustingly cute), don’t you think?
Yuki and Watanuki in the very early days.
They did just about everything together then, including tormenting their older siblings. But let’s not go there.
From Day One of her arrival, Kaja was eager to explore the house. Even the occasional misstep didn’t phase her. If anything, it made her more determined.
“Kaja’s in the garbage again,” was heard so often it that we didn’t even have to say the whole thing. A simple “Kaja” and a head-shake sufficed.
Rhubarb has his friend and Mommie’s pillow all to himself. All is right with the world.
Hail, hail, the whole gang is here.
A rare peaceful moment with everyone in one place. As I recall, about thirty seconds after this picture was taken Yuki and Rhubarb both stalked off indignantly, offended by the mere presence of Kaja and ‘Nuki, respectively.
